Who we are - Tim Hoverd

Tim is a Chartered Engineer who holds an honours degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Liverpool, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Theoretical Software Principles from the University of Hertfordshire. He is a member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers and the Association for Computing Machinery. With more than 25 years of experience working in Information Technology, Tim has held a wide variety of technical and managerial positions.

Over the last 20 years he has specialised in the techniques of system engineering and software development, with a particular emphasis on improving what projects can achieve. Tim is familiar with the latest ideas, standards and techniques, including the key technologies applicable to the Web (eg Java, J2EE, XML etc.). He works with organisations to determine their real system requirements, and with staff at all levels to lead, educate, organise, support, and mentor them throughout all phases of system development. He has an enviable history of success in the practical application of innovative technology to a wide range of challenging situations.

During his career Tim has worked in a range of application domains. In addition to his work researching process and methods, he has extensive practical experience in banking and finance, transportation, and telecommunications. He has taken senior responsibilities in programmes employing many hundreds of staff and with budgets exceeding $US 500 million.

Tim has worked for ITT/STC Corporation (11 years) and was with Logica for eight years. Subsequently he spent four years as an independent consultant. In 1998 he co-founded Isocra Ltd, a software consultancy and products company in Cambridge, UK of which he is the Chief Executive Officer. He is a Founding Associate of Adsensus International.
