Who we are - Roger Appleton

Roger is a consultant and project manager with over 35 years of experience in IT systems and products in the UK and Europe. His main areas of expertise are system and product architecture, and the management of major system implementation projects for companies and government organisations.


His career includes a broad spectrum of projects involving the design, implementation and validation of software systems, and he has detailed knowledge of the interaction of hardware and software in the optimisation of both system and product design. The wide range of successful implementations he has managed runs from smaller special systems through to major applications. He also has extensive experience of quality systems and ISO 9000 approvals.


Roger's experience has been gained in a diverse range of application areas including real-time control and defence, high technology medical imaging, networks and telecommunications, and airport passenger information display. For 5 years he led an R&D group which developed one of the world's first stand-alone text processing systems and which was awarded the Queen's Award for Technology. More recently Roger has been working in the area of document management and web-based application delivery. He is currently contracted for the ongoing design, implementation and maintenance of the States of Jersey's Land Registry system.


Roger has been instrumental in forming IT companies and has held a number of Directorships. He is an effective communicator, is highly adaptable, and works well with people at all organisational levels. He flies his own aeroplane.


He has worked for Marconi Radar Systems (6 years) Logica (13 years) Kinesis Computing (5 years) and as an independent Consultant and Director (12 years). Roger is a Founding Associate of Adsensus International.
