Reuben is a computer scientist, software engineer and choral singer (personal site). As a member of St John's College at the University of Cambridge, he gained a BA with honours in Computer Science and Mathematics. He continued at Cambridge, taking his PhD at the Computer Laboratory with research into virtual machines and machine independence. Throughout his time at Cambridge, Reuben sang as treble and then bass with several college choirs, including those of St John's College, King's College, and Clare College.

Reuben works as a freelance software and systems engineer and systems administrator. He designs and develops websites, and provides frontline IT consultancy and operational support to a number of small businesses. He is active in the development of open source software.

His commercial experience includes the support of specialist applications running under Microsoft Windows, the development and support of healthcare applications, and the design and development of websites. He has also undertaken the translation from French into English of a computer science textbook. Reuben has more than twenty years' experience of planning and managing his own work, and of collaborating with other small teams.

Since graduation Reuben has worked for the University of Glasgow (2 years - as a research assistant based at the Cambridge offices of Microsoft Reasearch), and Protechnic Exeter Limited (2 years). In late 2003 he started work as a self-employed software engineer. In this latter role he has translated a text book for Cambridge University Press, and been closely involved in the development of The Guidepost a product of adsensus limited.

A highly unusual feature of Reuben's educational career is his commitment since the age of eight as Chorister, Head Chorister, and Choral Scholar to the college choirs mentioned above. While at school and at university, in addition to managing the day-to-day pressures of a being a professional musician, he took part with these choirs in many international tours, and recorded more than 30 CDs.

Reuben is a persuasive speaker and accomplished writer. He is eloquent in English, fluent in French, and intelligible in Italian. He is a Principal of Adsensus International, and was the principal designer of the typeface consensus, in which the company's logo is set.
